The 82 years old, who was tested positive at the end of March, the first collaborator of the Nigerian President, Mallam Abba Kyari, fought in vain against the Coronavirus pandemic. In an official statement released on Saturday, April 18th, 2020, the Nigerian Presidency announced with great regret the death of the man, stating that it was linked to the Covid-19.
Muhammadu Buhari’s chief of staff, Mallam Abba Kyari, who returned from an official trip (Germany) on March 14th, as part of the electricity supply negotiations with the German firm Siemens, presented the first signs of Coronavirus at an official meeting on March 22nd, 2020 at Villa Aso Rock. This has, in fact, fuelled speculation about its possible contamination.
He was then tested positive at the National Center of Desease Control (NCDC). He was initially admitted to his residence in self-isolation. Despite the care, he could not resist to the disease. His health has been significantly degraded. And he died early this morning, April 18th, 2020. He has also been burried in his village.
